Robert Smith – President

Robert Smith is a US Army veteran and proven business leader with over 20 years of experience in business ownership, management, and technical leadership. His hands-on leadership style is proactive and decisive, and he regularly cultivates key business and government alliances to further strengthen AFMS’s expertise and customer satisfaction while simultaneously broadening services and resources.

His visionary talent—with a keen eye for new opportunities—allows AFMS to redefine corporate strategy and capitalize on services in response to increased competition from mainstream competitors.

Mr. Smith brings outstanding credentials and success as a former Program Manager for SRA International supporting the Secretary of Defense Chief Information Officer. Mr. Smith was also a Senior Consultant for Booz-Allen Hamilton and supported the Headquarters Department of the Army Asymmetrical Warfare Office.

Mr. Smith holds a Top Secret SSBI/SCI clearance and is a certified ITIL IT Systems Management professional.

Jason Willhite – COO

Jason Willhite is an entrepreneurial leader with a 15-year history of transforming startup enterprises into established and successful revenue-generating organizations. He is an expert in analyzing existing operations and implementing strategies, processes, and technologies to improve organizational performance. He has pioneered innovative technology programs and training initiatives utilizing strong P&L management, information technology, and human resource expertise.

As an expert in Business Continuity, he works with diverse business units nationally providing input on best practices regarding the development of business continuity plans.

Mr. Willhite is a veteran of the United States Army, he provided technical management in support of the Department of Defense and Federal Emergency Management Agency. His performance resulted in three U.S. Army Maintenance of Excellence Awards.

Mr. Willhite possesses a Top Secret SSBI/SCI clearance and holds the following certifications: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), COMPTIA Plus Technician, COMPTIA Plus Security. Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), & ITIL Foundations Certification in IT Service Management.

Justin Elyard – Vice President

Mr. Justin Elyard joined AFMS in November 2002 as a member of AFMS’ team supporting Headquarters, Department of the Army. Throughout this time he has held various positions of increasing responsibility culminating with promotion to Program Manager in 2009. Mr. Elyard’s team is responsible for ensuring a coordinated effort between multiple stakeholders to produce Continuity Capabilities meeting the operational requirements of the HQDA Staff. As part of this responsibility, Mr. Elyard leads the execution of all COOP exercises, orientations, and Senior Leader visits. Additionally, Mr. Elyard leads the COOP Office’s programming and budget initiatives.

Prior to joining the AFMS Mr. Elyard served 5½ years as a Chemical Officer in the United States Army. His assignments included BN Chemical Officer, 6-37 Field Artillery, 2nd Infantry Division; BN Chemical Officer 2-2 Infantry, 1st Infantry Division; Executive Officer, 12th Chemical Company, 1st Infantry Division; and Installation Operations Officer, Raven Rock Mountain Complex attaining the rank of Captain. Justin’s civilian education includes a Bachelors of Science in Ocean Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology and a Masters of Business Administration from Mount St. Mary’s University. Additionally, Mr. Elyard is awaiting approval of his Disaster Recovery Institute International’s certification as a Certified Business Continuity Planner. He is married to Dr. Hanne Andersen, formerly of Dronninglund, Denmark, and is the proud father to 20 month old Ellen Hadley Elyard.
